Ana-Maria Tomlinson

Director, Strategic and Cross Sector Programs, CSA Group

Ana-Maria is the Director, Strategic and Cross Sector Programs, responsible for the development and evolution of a strategic new standard development sector in Transit and Passenger Rail. Her focus is to advance sustainable, impactful standards development programs that address complex societal challenges, bridge standards development and policy, and realize the full potential of standards to improve safety, health, the environment, and economic efficiency.
Ana-Maria joined CSA in 2014 as a Project Manager, leading national, and international standard development across a breadth of topics. She later took on the role of Manager of Strategic Initiatives, establishing new standards projects in the areas of climate change adaptation and mitigation, natural and nature-based solutions, modular construction, and climate resilience for dams. Ana-Maria built and nurtured relationships with key government and industry actors, and helped establish large collaborative research and standardization projects. Ana-Maria also managed the ISO Climate Change Coordination Task Force, leading official UNFCCC Side Events on Climate Resilience, and Carbon Neutrality at COP 23 and COP24.
Ana-Maria holds a PhD in Chemical Engineering from the University of Edinburgh, and a BASc in Chemical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
