Brendon Hemily, Ph.D., Consultant and Senior Advisor, University of Toronto’s Transit Analytics Lab

Brendon is an independent consultant with 42 years of experience working with the transit industry in both Canada and the U.S.A. His area of interest is the implementation of best practices and innovative concepts in order to improve the quality and efficiency of the transit industry. Fare policy has been a specific area of focus and he has provided related advice to ARTM in Montreal, Metrolinx, TransLink in Vancouver, and York Region Transit. Prior to 2000, he worked for 15 years for the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) as CUTA’s Manager of Research and Technical Services, where he was responsible for all technical activities. He is actively involved in various associations including CUTA, the American Public Transportation Association, ITS Canada, and the Transportation Research Board (TRB), where he chaired for 4 years on TRB’s Public Transportation Group which has 12 committees and is past Chair and Emeritus Member of TRB’s Committee on Public Transportation Planning and Development. He serves as Senior Advisor to the University of Toronto’s Transit Analytics Lab.
