Modernizing Commercial Transportation Education: Digital Learning Tools to Improve Safety Knowledge. MTO recently launched innovative online learning modules, revolutionizing the traditional Air Brake Endorsement renewal process. Formerly, drivers underwent in-person written knowledge tests every five years at DriveTest centers. Now, with the new online platform, drivers have the flexibility to participate from anywhere using their smartphones, tablets, or computers. The 30-minute program offers interactive learning activities intertwined with test components, culminating in a completion certificate for inclusion in the driver’s license renewal process. This transformative project seamlessly aligns with the transportation sector’s expectations for modern tools and caters precisely to drivers’ needs, emphasizing a client-focused, timely approach.

This original unveiling marks just the inception of a suite of comprehensive digital learning products spearheaded by the Transportation Safety Division within MTO. Included are the newly released Oversize/Overweight Permitting modules and a highly anticipated learning program poised to redefine the New Entrant Education and Evaluation Program (NEEEP) for aspiring CVOR applicants. These forward-thinking developments echo the broader educational objectives, enriching the collective understanding and expertise in the transportation domain.
