Driver Recruitment and Retention – Systems, Metrics and What the Experience Tells Us
Driver recruitment and retention is easily one of the most challenging issues we face as an industry. It’s time to take a step back from the granular day-to-day, and take a look at what is going on at other organizations within our industry and beyond. In advance of the OTE, you will be invited to participate in the ‘Approaches to Recruitment and Retention’ survey open to all attendees. This survey will examine the systems we use to attract, recruit, on-board, support and engage staff.
The session will start with an interactive exercise on the topic of recruitment and retention. We will then dive into the survey results. These results will provide you with a quantitative snapshot of our efforts as an industry to address our recruitment and retention issues, and you can use this snapshot to benchmark your own organization. We will then turn our attention to best practices across all industries to see what we can learn and apply to our own situations, particularly in the areas of metrics and the candidate and employee experience.
You will leave this session with:
- A comparison of how your organization’s recruitment and retention systems stack up to our industry’s current practices
- A list of useful metrics to collect to improve your recruitment and retention success
- Ideas of how you can use the concept of candidate/employee experience to change the lens through which you see your recruitment and retention efforts
- A game plan for change of both small tweaks and/or a large overhaul to your recruitment and retention systems.
