Shelly Ackers, Executive Director – Quinte Transit

Shelly has over 30 years administrative experience both with for profit corporations and non-profit organizations. Shelly was in her role as Administrator with Quinte Access from 2006 to 2018 and is currently in the role of Executive Director. She has been instrumental in the growth of Quinte Access, working with staff, Board of Directors, Municipal staff and other community partners to increase ridership on the specialized service, the implementation of the service in Prince Edward County, Public Transit in Trenton Ward of Quinte West and the transit connections from Frankford and Brighton to Trenton. With her passion to see transit available to all residents in the Quinte region and working collectively with neighboring municipalities and community transportation providers, Shelly and her team secured the contracts to implement the fixed routing & integrated flex routing for both the Frankford/Brighton connection and the new County Transit. Most recently, along with a rebranding of Quinte Access to Quinte Transit, 2021 saw the start of a fixed route connecting Trenton to the Belleville bus terminal and Loyalist College representing the beginning of a fully integrated Regional Transit network connecting 4 Municipalities.
