Marco DÂ’Angelo – Canadian Urban Transit Association

Marco DÂ’Angelo became President and CEO of the Canadian Urban Transit Association in 2018. He has positioned CUTA as CanadaÂ’s top advocate for public transit and urban mobility, focusing on increasing ridership and promoting safety and security. CUTA also links housing affordability with transit access as a key benefit for Canadian families. Linking communities through rail is at the heart of much of CUTAÂ’s work.

 

Dr. Josipa Petrunic – Canadian Urban Transit Research & Innovation Consortium

As the President & CEO of CUTRIC, Dr. Josipa Petrunic is leading the formulation of national transportation and energy systems analyses, including battery electric vehicles (BEV), hydrogen fuel cell electric vehicles (FCEVs) and zero-emissions transit technologies. As one of CanadaÂ’s leading experts in Zero-Emissions Bus (ZEB) innovation deployment projects, Dr. Petrunic has designed, developed and launched the Pan-Canadian Electric Bus Demonstration & Integration Trial (Phases I-II), the Pan-Canadian Hydrogen Fuel Cell Demonstration & Integration Trial (Phase I) and the Canadian National Smart Vehicle Demonstration & Integration Trial (Phase I).

Under the leadership of Dr. Petrunic, CUTRIC has expanded from five founding members to more than 130 transit, utility, industry, and academic institutional members across North America with projects valued at over $50 million.

Currently based in Toronto, Canada, Dr. Petrunic was named as one of CanadaÂ’s Top 40 Under 40 by Bloomberg News and CanadaÂ’s Top Clean 50 in 2018. In 2019, she was named Aspioneer Top 10 Influential Women Leaders. In 2020, she received an award in WXNÂ’s CanadaÂ’s Most Powerful Women: Top 100 Awards for her role in the Science and Technology industry.

 

Jennifer McNeill – New Flyer Industries

Jennifer McNeill is a transportation industry veteran with over two decades of leadership in bus and coach manufacturing and aviation maintenance. She joined New Flyer in 2012 and leads the Sales and Marketing operation for New Flyer and Motorcoach Industries public sector clients, including responsibility for North American Government Relations activity and NFIÂ’s Vehicle Innovation Center. Prior to joining New Flyer, Jennifer worked for StandardAero for 17 years where she held senior management and leadership positions in engineering, quality, sales, and business strategy, including Vice President Sales, Marketing and Business Development. Jennifer is a catalyst for the development of New FlyerÂ’s zero-emission bus and infrastructure offerings in Canada and the U.S., and an advocate for smart, sustainable, and resilient mobility. She is a board member with the American Public Transit Association (APTA), Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) and currently chairs the Canadian Urban Transit Research and Innovation Consortium (CUTRIC). She holds both a Mechanical Engineering degree and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Manitoba and is an accredited Professional Engineer. Jennifer was named an Honouree of CanadaÂ’s prestigious Clean50 sustainability leaders in 2020, as the category leader for Manufacturing and Transportation.

 

Kelly Paleczny – London Transit

Kelly Paleczny has been with the London Transit Commission for the past 28 years, and has held the role of General Manager since 2015. In addition to her role at LTC, Kelly is also a member of the executive board of directors of the Ontario Public Transit Association and Chair of the board of directors of the Canadian Urban Transit Association.

 

Josh Colle – Toronto Transit Commission

Josh Colle is the Chief Strategy and Customer Experience Officer for the TTC. He has over 20 years of experience in the transport and municipal sectors, with extensive strategy, stakeholder relations, communications, customer, and transit experience. Prior to the TTC, Josh was a partner at EY, where he led CanadaÂ’s national transit practice and worked with transit systems and municipalities across North America to help them improve service delivery, find efficiencies, design operating models, and restructure organizations. This experience included supporting transit providers in developing fare policy, fare and service integration frameworks, strategies for increasing revenue, strategic plans, and new conventional and specialized service delivery models. Josh is also a member of the Canadian Urban Transit Association (CUTA) Board of Directors and Executive Committee, and previously served as their Vice Chair of Integrated Mobility. Prior to his most recent role at EY, Josh served for eight years as a Toronto City Councillor with six years on the Board of the TTC, including four years as Chair. JoshÂ’s public and private sector experience has also included executive roles in an infrastructure and energy consulting firm and at Toronto Pearson International Airport.
